Handmade jewellery made with real lichen coated in resin
In Scotland we are lucky to be surrounded by beautiful lichen, which in rural areas embellishes the rocks, trees and fences with lace like shapes. Lichen is easy to overlook, so we often fail to notice the intricate shapes and patterns it creates. I wanted to create a range of jewellery that draws the eye to each piece and shows off its minute perfection.
These pieces are made from real lichen set in resin, which adds strength and shine.
All the lichen is sustainably sourced, and was collected from fallen branches following storms. Each piece was found in a different part of Scotland, and tells a story about the unique conditions in that place.
